Do you like the idea and ease of camping in a roof top tent, but not keen on loading it on the roof of your vehicle every time you want to use it- or keeping it on your roof all the time? Do you also like the flexibility of setting up camp and still being able to explore with your vehicle without having to pack up your roof top tent? This camping/overlanding trailer is worth a look!
Overland style enclosed trailer with giant, 4 person roof top tent. The trailer can be opened from the rear and the top, making all you gear readily accessible. The enclosed portion is approximately 4'x6'x2'. The tent is mounted a little more than 2' above to allow easy access to the strut powered top doors, as well as room to carry larger items, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. I pull this trailer behind my old Honda Pilot, and could be pulled by a smaller crossover/SUV. It tows really smooth on the road and does well on bumpy Forest Service type roads, too.
The trailer can easily be converted back to an open top trailer with or without the the tent and rack attached. The trailer is very sturdy with metal sides. (See photos prior to lid/doors being installed.)

The tent is the Nomadic 4 Extended Tent by Overland Vehicle Systems. This tent is amazing!
The sleeping area is a bit larger than a king size bed, and the vestibule provides a nice, dry entry to take off your muddy boots and not get the inside soaked trying to get in.
I put this setup together about a year ago, but just haven't used it nearly as much as I wished. The tent has only been used twice for short weekend trips.
