Job Description- General Laborer:
We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and safety-conscious General Laborer to join our team at our lumber remanufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting production operations through a variety of tasks, including sorting wood, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting in general labor duties as assigned. This role requires a strong work ethic, punctuality, and a positive “can-do” attitude to contribute to the success and efficiency of our team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to work at the start of each shift.
· Bring a positive “can-do” attitude to daily tasks and team interactions.
· Sort and stack lumber according to production needs.
· Perform general yard and area clean-up to maintain a safe, organized work environment.
· Assist with moving, stacking, and handling materials as directed.
· Support production operations with various general labor duties as assigned by supervisors.
· Monitor work areas for hazards and address or report safety concerns immediately.
· Follow all company safety policies and procedures — safety is our top priority.
· Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in clean and serviceable condition.
· Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
· Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
· Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, bending, and reaching.
· Willingness to work in varying weather conditions in an outdoor/warehouse environment.
· Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to teamwork.
· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
· Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
· Previous experience in a manufacturing, lumber, or warehouse environment is a plus but not required.
Work Environment:
· Industrial lumber remanufacturing facility with exposure to loud machinery, dust, and varying temperatures.
· PPE provided and required at all times (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots).
· While scheduling is normally on workdays, rotating shifts or weekend work may be required depending on production needs.
Compensation & Perks
· Hourly Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
· Overtime: Eligible for overtime pay at 1.5x hourly rate for hours over 40 per week
· Paid Time Off:
o 6 paid holidays annually
· Sick Leave: Earned in accordance with Oregon law (minimum 1 hour per 30 hours worked)
