Job Description- Forklift Driver:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Driver to join our team at our lumber remanufacturing facility. This position is responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials and products throughout the plant. Additionally, drivers will support other production stages, such as barcoding and lumber wrapping. The ideal candidate is a safety- focused individual who can work independently or as a part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to work at the start of each shift.
Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move lumber, pallets, and other materials.
Perform production tasks including as barcoding and lumber wrapping, as needed.
Load and unload trucks, stack and organize materials, and ensure proper placement for workflow efficiency.
Conduct pre-shift forklift inspections and report any maintenance needs.
Maintain awareness of pedestrian traffic and other equipment to prevent accidents.
Assist in general production duties, including sorting and stacking lumber, pallet and crate building, and yard clean-up.
Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding material movement and production needs.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures — safety is our top priority.
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in clean and serviceable condition.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
Minimum 1–2 years of forklift operation experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
Ability to operate and support various lumber remanufacturing equipment.
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, bending, and reaching.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to teamwork.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
Solid understanding of workplace safety standards, particularly forklift safety.
Work Environment:
Industrial lumber remanufacturing facility with exposure to loud machinery, dust, and varying temperatures.
PPE provided and required at all times (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots).
Rotating shifts or weekend work may be required depending on production needs.
Compensation & Perks
Hourly Pay: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Overtime: Eligible for overtime pay at 1.5x hourly rate for hours over 40 per week
Paid Time Off:
6 paid holidays annually
Sick Leave: Earned in accordance with Oregon law (minimum 1 hour per 30 hours worked)
