For sale for $30, cash only: A Sun Microsystems Type 5 keyboard in great cosmetic condition. I am unable to test this unit because I do not own a compatible Sun computer.
The Sun Microsystems Type 5 keyboard dates back to the early to mid-1990s (pre-USB times), and was designed with a proprietary mini DIN-8 connector. According to Google AI, Sun Microsystems computers compatible with this mini DIN-8 connector include the Sun SPARCstation 4 and 5, Ultra series (1, 2, 5, 10, 30, 60, and 80), and Enterprise series (250, 450, 220R, 420R, 3500, 4500, 5500, and 6500). The Type 5 is larger than a standard keyboard, having an additional two rows of keys on the left hand side for special functions used by compatible Sun workstations.
Because many users liked the heft and feel of this keyboard, hobbyists have figured out how to adapt the mini DIN-8 connector for modern computers in use today. For references to these efforts, please see these web sites:

I am willing to meet in a public place in Bend to complete this sale by a car-to-car transfer. Because I am coming from the west side of town, I have listed here a potential public location at the picnic gazebo at Northwest Crossing's Discovery Park here in Bend. However, I am open to a buyer's location preferences if they desire to complete this transaction at another public site in Bend.
