Mountain Sky, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Landscape Estimator to join our team! The Assistant Landscape Estimator works with the Landscape Construction division to develop detailed estimates for various projects and assist with the communication of bids and scopes of work, playing a vital role in bidding, budgeting, and developing project plans.
DUTIES:
Bidding & Estimating
• Collaborate with project managers to draft and review both private and public landscape proposals.
• Input data, build pricing matrices, and assist in compiling comprehensive bids for both large-scale commercial tenders and high-end residential installations.
• Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to develop accurate pricing.
• Promptly process scope changes and estimate revisions as needed.
• Assist in the organization and preparation of bid documents prior to submission.
• Assist in the development and execution of job packets.
• Prepare and present detailed construction cost estimates.
• Research, compile, and organize technical product submittals, catalog cut sheets, and material samples for approval.
• Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to negotiate costs and finalize bids.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Assist in the procurement of material substitutions for upcoming jobs as needed.
• Coordinate with vendors/subcontractors to execute pre-bid meetings and bid walkthroughs.
• Track RFIs, addendums, and change orders; prepare and submit relevant documentation for ongoing contracts.
• Provide input on construction site considerations that may impact estimating accuracy or project delivery.
• Act as a point of contact for vendor material pricing requests and general contractor bid inquiries.
• Maintain and update the estimating calendar; track deadlines, bid addendums, and historical pricing data.
• Support post-bid processes including tracking bid results and follow-ups.
• Maintain organized records and templates of estimates, bids, and related documentation for future reference.
• Operate and maintain proficiency in all internal systems, technologies, and software.
• Attend operational meetings as well as other company wide initiatives as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual - English and Spanish. (preferred)
• Willing to participate in a drug-free work environment.
• Hold a valid Oregon driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• General knowledge of construction site operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and high level of accuracy.
• Strong negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with subcontractors and vendors.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent time management skills; ability to work under pressure and accomplish tight deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• General knowledge of perennials, shrubs, evergreens, and trees; identification and habitat requirements.
• General knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various landscape construction projects.
