Ergo EUB 5-String Electric Upright Bass — Stained Cherry, Upgraded - $1,299 (Orchard District, Bend)

This is a handmade Ergo EUB with a stained cherry body. It has been upgraded and professionally sorted, so it avoids the common issues people sometimes mention with these basses.
It has a custom maple saddle fitted by a luthier, an upgraded piezo pickup, and the HPF preamp has been securely fitted. It also has the string-length modification that allows it to use 4/4 upright bass strings properly.
Currently strung with a full set of Thomastik Spirocore Orchestra 4/4 strings, included with the bass. On this 7/8 scale instrument, the 4/4 Orchestra strings feel a bit lighter and more manageable, while still giving a strong upright-style response.
The tuners have also been upgraded to Grover 145BCL Titan bass machines, which are a major improvement over the stock tuners.
This is a very good example of an Ergo. No stand rattle, no loose body/stand connection, no piezo balance issue, no unstable hardware, and no weird setup problems. The preamp is secure, the saddle is properly fitted, and the instrument plays cleanly and reliably.
