About the Role
Are you a visual storyteller who knows how to make Central Oregon look as epic as it feels? Bachelor Guide is looking for a creative and strategic Social Media Manager to lead our digital presence.
Your mission is to bridge the gap between our print publication and the digital world. You won’t just be "posting to Instagram"—you’ll be building a digital destination for locals and visitors who love the Mt. Bachelor lifestyle, the High Desert, and everything in between.
Key Responsibilities
• Content Strategy & Creation: Develop and execute a monthly content calendar. This includes high-quality Reels/TikToks (short-form video), "day-in-the-life" stories, and long-form storytelling that highlights local businesses.
• Social Search Optimization: Move beyond hashtags. You will optimize our captions and video scripts for "Social Search" to ensure Bachelor Guide is the first thing people find when searching for "Best breweries in Bend" or "Winter hiking in Central Oregon."
• Community Management: Foster a "neighborhood" feel. Engage with followers, answer DMs, and moderate conversations with a voice that is authentic, helpful, and adventurous.
• Creator & Partner Collaborations: Identify and partner with local micro-influencers and our advertising partners to create high-value User-Generated Content (UGC).
• AI & Trend Monitoring: Utilize modern AI tools for efficiency (ideation and scheduling) while ensuring every post maintains a human, "ownable" Bachelor Guide voice.
• Analytics & Growth: Track weekly KPIs (Engagement rate, Social Share of Voice, and Link Clicks) to ensure our social efforts are driving actual value to our advertisers and website.
What We’re Looking For
• The "Eye": You have a talent for mobile photography and video. You can take a standard lunch at a local spot and turn it into a "must-visit" viral Reel.
• Voice & Tone: You can write captions that sound like a savvy local friend, not a corporate robot.
• Technical Fluency: Deep knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, and emerging community platforms.
• Local Passion: You genuinely love Central Oregon. You know the difference between the locals' favorite trailhead and the tourist spots.
Requirements
• 2+ years of experience in social media management or digital content creation.
• Proficiency in video editing apps (CapCut, Adobe Express, etc.) and scheduling tools (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar).
• Must be based in Central Oregon with the ability to travel for on-site content shoots.
Compensation & Benefits
• Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
• Flexible "content-first" schedule (you’re often out in the field).
• Access to the best events, food, and outdoor experiences Central Oregon has to offer.
