Legal Assistant
PrideStaff, a firm specializing in recruiting for Central Oregon businesses, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant for a well-established law firm in Bend. The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-starter, detail oriented, and have extensive legal assistant experience in a similar role. This is a great long-term, career opportunity. M-F 8:30am-5:00pm. Pay is $ DOE.

Legal Assistant Job duties:
• Provide legal and administrative support to attorneys that practice in the areas of business and estate planning, litigation, and municipal law
• Maintain the highest level of professional conduct and confidentiality
• Ability to work in a fast paced and professional environment
• Work closely with attorneys in the preparation of estate planning documents, business formation documents, business contracts and real estate documents
• Prepare correspondence with clients and other professional advisors
• Field phone calls and email inquiries from clients
• Schedule appointments
• Transcription, docketing and filing
• Handle "overflow" work for legal assistant staff, filling in for vacations and absences
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and attorneys
• Operate office machines such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, personal computers, and postage machine
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize duties
• Other Duties as Assigned

Legal Assistant Job Requirements:
• A minimum of 2 years of prior legal assistant or comparable professional experience is required
• A strong desire to succeed in a team environment
• Minimum typing speed of 45 WPM
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
• Excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading abilities
• Proven ability to analyze information
• Experience with electronic document storage and filing
• Strong data entry and computer skills
• Estate planning and business experience is highly preferred
• Self-starter
• Maintain a pleasant attitude at all times
• Ability to pay close attention to detail, meet daily deadlines, and multi-task in fast paced environment
• Able to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision
• Professional dress is required
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• 2 Professional References

Supervision: This position has supervision. Teamwork is essential to work towards a common goal.
