Location: Bend, OR
Qualifications:
• Prior experience with HVAC rough-in installation
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
• Attention to detail and high-quality workmanship
HVAC rough-in marks a crucial early phase of system installation following framing and preceding drywall application. During this stage, contractors install essential components such as ductwork, refrigerant lines, vent pipes, and place air handlers or furnaces. Installers establish the foundation for system operation by integrating copper brazing, drain lines, and thermostat wiring, facilitating inspection readiness.
Key HVAC Rough-In Installer Responsibilities:
• Ductwork Installation: Routing supply and return ducts through walls, floors, and ceilings.
• Unit Placement: Positioning the air handler or furnace in its designated area (e.g., attic or basement).
• Refrigerant Lines: Installing copper "linesets" connecting the air handler to the future outdoor unit location, ensuring proper sealing for protection.
• Ventilation & Flue Pipe Setup: Installing exhaust vents for furnaces and water heaters, including B-venting systems.
• Drain Line Installation: Integrating condensate lines for air conditioning and heat recovery units.
• Electrical Wiring: Running low-voltage wires for thermostats.
• Vent/Range Fan Installation: Fitting housings for bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans.
Best Practices:
• Coordination: HVAC rough-in should align with plumbing and electrical work schedules, typically preceding insulation placement.
• Safety & Inspection: Maintaining appropriate clearances—such as one inch for B-vent pipes—to comply with municipal inspection standards.
• Location Planning: Refraining from installing major components on exterior walls whenever feasible.
Benefits We Offer:
• Competitive hourly pay
• Health, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days
• 40 hours of PTO after 90 days
