Mountain Sky, Inc. is seeking skilled and motivated candidates to join our Landscape Construction team! The Landscape Foreman is responsible for planning, performing, delegating and directing the day-to-day operations of the landscape department in the field.
DUTIES:
Landscape Operations
• Direct and perform installation of landscape plantings, irrigation systems, drainage, water features, landscape lighting, and designed build systems.
• Responsible for the layout of designed irrigations systems and designed build systems.
• Safely operate and train crewmembers on equipment including but not limited to skid steer, front loader, and dingo.
• Assist with employee training.
• Delegate job tasks to appropriate crewmembers to assist in the completion of landscape projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications.
• Serve as a point of contact for client correspondence and communication; maintain client satisfaction, including handling complaints and feedback professionally.
• Maintain positive vendor relationships; purchase job materials as authorized by Landscape Division Manager.
• Accurately track and record all job expenses and hours worked; report all purchases to Landscape Division Manager.
• Proficiently utilize company software for the completion of work orders/contracts and recording job-related notes.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and organization including vehicles, tools, and machinery.
• Participate in snow removal services during winter months (i.e. manual snow shoveling).
• Other duties as assigned.
Manage Time, Quality, & Productivity
• Review projects to determine budget guidelines, staffing and equipment placements, and create a working plan to keep projects on time and on budget.
• Oversee the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project.
• Execute critical thinking skills and manage field adjustments to ensure timely project completion.
• Meet with subcontractors and supervise quality, efficiency, and deadlines.
• Manage and complete paperwork and/or paperless communication with Landscape Division Manager and administrative staff in a timely manner.
• Set/maintain high standards of work quality and serve as a positive example for the crew.

• Utilize all required personal protective equipment.
• Punctual and dependable; reports for duty at the designated location on time each day.

REQUIREMENTS:
• 3+ years of landscape experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory/management experience. (preferred)
• Bilingual - English and Spanish. (preferred)
• Willing to participate in a drug-free work environment.
• Valid Oregon driver license with a clean driving record.
• Capable of lifting 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills; ability to work under pressure and accomplish tight deadlines.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
• Heavy equipment operating skills including front end loaders, mini excavators, skid steers with various attachments; able to operate other construction equipment as needed.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Ability to work outdoors in all seasonal temperatures and conditions, including exposure to extreme weather.
• Ability to work during all operating hours, including nights and weekends as required.
• Expert knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various landscape construction projects.
• Expert knowledge to calculate material and placement needed per jobsite size and design.
• Expert knowledge of irrigation systems, components, water features, and electrical timer systems.
• Expert knowledge of low voltage lighting, splicing, and transformer installation.
• Expert knowledge of perennials, shrubs, evergreens, and trees; identification and habitat requirements.
