Companion care (Redmond, Bend & Sisters)
offered in person
I moved here from Anacortes Washington where I offered companion care to seniors for years.
I would help with daily needs & even overnight.
I believe strongly in quality of life, I do this by encouraging my clients to get involved in the local senior activities, or go to a local senior exercising class and be the support they need while at the gym, if they’re wheelchair bound, I take them on walks pushing the wheelchair encourage wheelchair exercise classes. Take them to locally events or clubs they may belong to, assist or host dinner or lunch parties for them like a card/game night.
Yes I do assist with the messy stuff as well, cleaning up after an unexpected bowel movement, with integrity. Not shaming or making a big deal about it. Showering assistance.
I have held my clients hands till they took their last breath and called the hospice nurse to call the time of death, in a in-home care & facility situation.
I am a good cook, I offer light house keeping (I am not a house cleaner) I can drive clients to and from appointments, help set all types of appointments,
I have worked for (home instead) in a hospice care position.
Also in my past I worked for STEPS, which assists high risk special needs adults.
I have recently been trained to work with I/DD children - I have completed required classes & hands on training 2/1/2025
I have been recently fingerprinted in Oregon for a job working with children.
I know how to use a lift, and how to care for adults who have recently broken a hip.
I have references when asked from both past client & their adult children who managed their care.
I have cooked for, hosted events for or just taken on a day trip.
I have flow out of state with seniors just to pack the senior stuff and get them to the airport, pushed them through the airport, got them on the airplane flew with them, then stayed with them and the family for Thanksgiving, then flew back with the senior to their home unpacked them then I flew back home. It was a long hard trip, but so worth the joy on everyone’s face and the soul restoration, and amazing connections with great, great grandkids.
I enjoy, and feel honored to work with the adults who help build our country.
Note: I do not work with people who have entitlement issues, that’s not me, I interview as well as being interviewed. It’s needs to be a win, win situations.
