If you were to place standard framing square over the horse's withers and down each side onto it's shoulders, that would be a good indication of how a given saddle would fit. Compare that to how the framing square fits to the saddle. My gelding is a perfect fit to a FS and this saddle is under 90 degrees. Therefor, it would pinch his shoulders. It would fit better on a Thoroughbred, Arabian or.....
