We are a bend based, very busy, full service catering business with a stellar reputation – Voted Best of Bend 5 years running. We provide above and beyond service, and specialize in made from scratch unique northwest flavors. You will be able to enjoy our yummy food also; we provide shift meals as well as take home meals daily at no charge. It’s a pretty great place to work - we have a Fun Squad that plans monthly parties and quarterly events as well as spontaneous Sonic drink runs! We still have a super eventful Summer Season and need to add to our already fantastic staff. We do have COVID protocols in place that enable us to serve our customers safely and efficiently – keeping us and them safe! We offer a progressive work atmosphere with flexible scheduling, time off and year round employment. One of the great things about Bleu Bite is that we are just daytime shifts, no late nights, and you get at least 1 weekend off a month. On top of all that we are also in the middle of a new building construction project, expanding to a new location which is 3x’s our current size on a piece of property we purchased. We have been in business for 20 years and are continuing to move and groove! Now is the time to jump aboard and grow with our team.

Job Description

We are seeking a Kitchen Manager with a positive can-do attitude, who is genuinely interested in taking ownership of this job, has solid leadership qualities, a heavy-duty attention to detail along with the ability to thrive in a faced paced environment. We aren’t just looking for ability, but an attitude that reflects our core values. Our culture is not of me/mine or BOH/FOH, but “how can I help?!” You would be leading a team of cooks, preps and dishwashers and would report directly to the owner. We will set up interviews for all qualified applicants, then if it seems like a good fit we will schedule you for a paid working interview. Also point of note this job is day time hours, no late nights, and you get 1 weekend off a month. You can’t beat that!

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

Leading by example and being a role model for the standards and behaviors consistent with our core values and company culture.

Share responsibility for preparing food for daily catering order, meeting our high standards and using a full range of cooking methods.

Overseeing execution of catering orders – quality, timeliness, accuracy.

Create daily prep list for kitchen staff.

Assist in opening and closing checklists.

Weekly/daily vendor orders, inventory control and product organization.

Ensure Good Housekeeping Habits are adhered to at all times.

Maintain a smooth running and efficient kitchen at all times, following our procedures.

Attend to day-to-day situations with rapid solutions.

Anticipate, identify and correct system breakdowns.

Job performance reviews.

Adhere to our high standard of sanitation, cleanliness and safety.

Ensure proper management and maintenance kitchen and equipment.

Adjust staff schedule as needed based on volume.

Offsite chef at 3 – 5 catered events a month.


Minimum of 5 years experience in variety of kitchen positions including but no limited to dishwasher, food prep, line cook, chef, expediter, etc.

Minimum 6 months experience in a Kitchen Manager position or similar capacity.

Advanced knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.

Must be able to read, write, communicate and understand the English language with above normal accuracy

Must be able to communicate clearly with kitchen staff through verbal communication as well as word documents.

Must have stamina to work 40 hours per week. Job involves bending, reaching, stooping and frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a standing position for long periods, up to 8 hours daily.

Excellent organizational and coordinating skills.

Excellent basic math skills.

Know your way around a desk top computer and word documents. Apple computer skills a plus but not a necessity.

Food Handlers Certificate

Valid Drivers License and insurance

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

Offsite events involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and standing and/or walking for more than eight (8) hours per day.

Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
