MkI was made from 1978-1981.

The asking price is less than the cost of new items to bring this vintage Thorens TD 104 to a state of reliability for years to come. The only part that could need replacing in the next few years is the belt, which is easy to replace.

You don't need a new belt because the speed is dead on with the pitch knob about center ... which is pretty darn good.

The dust cover won't win any beauty contests, but is in better shape than most used turntables, when they have a dustcover. The hinges work as they should and their German engineering uses thick metal hinges that won't break if you stand on them. The back piece of one hinge opening is missing the original plastic, but somehow the cover is useable and stays on. You will never see this when it's in your system, unless you can walk around to the back of it.

I have been involved in audio for years, and can honestly say that this turntable is a great buy at this asking price, which is as low as I can go ... and will perform better than most turntables I see listed on CL and FB.

I have some entry level turntables that are NEW, if that is what you are looking for. This includes Audio-Technica at $300 and $400, as well as Rega and MoFI, which are not entry level.

I do carry record accessories like inner/outer sleeves from MoFi, stylus brushes from MoFi and Audio-Technica along with anti-static carbon fiber brushes ... and much more.

I do have a fully restored Yamaha CR-420 that I'm about to put up for sale. I would consider a bundle price of this turntable with that receiver, for $575

I added a pic of the CR-420 as a sneak peek.
