Posting up my 1987 250GD 5 speed SWB VIN: WDB46033717057136 odometer says: 42,xxx.

It’s been a great truck, and we’ve really fallen in love with it. I’ve put a couple thousand kms on it, put some work into it, but I really don’t need another W460 in my life so I figured I’d post it up.

It’s a well spec'd truck with 5.28 axles, F&R lockers, Karo grey plaid interior in really nice shape, heated seats (that work amazing, I’ve been impressed), one aux saddle tank, front and rear fog lights, rear wiper, wood shift knob, a cool diy winch bumper. It sat in a warehouse for 10 years, and I’ve slowly been fixing/tinkering it back onto the road.

I recently finished an OM602a swap out of a w124. I paired that with a 6mm pump, and it's become an incredibly zippy for a w460. The turbo spools early and makes it a blast to drive with the 5.28s. Tons of low end torque and will still cruise 65-70mph with great EGTs.

Some nerdy specs:
OM602A with ~170k miles on it. Zero blowby. See video.
6mm pump built by Benz Injectors.
New 140bar injectors. w/ reusable HD crush washers.
New injector return lines.
Catch can plumbed in to intake.
New Beru glowplugs.
Factory glow system working with an additional momentary switch. Allows you to glow extra on the cold mornings.
Factory flapper and EGR deleted.
Overdrive transmission/resurfaced flywheel, 290GD clutch
G pan/mounts/pickup swapped over to om602a.
New rear main seal.
Auber EGT gauge/probe.
New 2.5" exhaust w/muffler.
(5) New 255/85r16 Falken MTs. 33s. They're a bit noisy, you get the "muddy rumble" at times.
Wheel refresh. Steel-It all 5 wheels grey/light refinish/new valve stems.
New Interstate battery.
F&R diff flush.
Transfer case fluid change.
Transmission fluid change.
New oil + oil filter.
New inline fuel filter.
New canister fuel filter.
New water pump.
New thermostat.
New tensioner.
New belt damper.
New serpentine belt.
New slave cylinder.
New Moog tie rod set.
A set of Old Man Emu shocks.
A Bluetooth stereo I had laying around.
New front Pioneer speakers.
A bunch of little trim pieces were sourced.
Locker fiddling/bleeding/fixing.

Clean title in my name.

I’ve been daily driving it for the past couple months just making sure it was solid, and it’s given me zero issues. It's such a unique truck that turns heads all day long.

It’s not rust free. I had the floor pans patched up. Any floor rust was cut out, new steel welded in, primed, seam sealed, painted, and textured. The rear taillight buckets show some bubbling, the windshield frame could use some work, and the rear door is pretty dead. It's far from a perfect truck, but it's at a great spot. Drive it and slowly fix those things as you go? Frame off restore? The world is your oyster. I'd say it has one of the more desirable engine/trans/axle combinations in a very solid usable swb chassis.

What I'd do next:
-I'd probably get the radiator recored at some point. It doesn't leak and stays cool, but it has quite a bit of fin rot.
-Brakes have a ton of pad life, but the rotors are grooved up a bit. I figured run the pads down, and replace rotors at the same time.
