This Remington Bronze Replica "The Cheyenne ", we purchased in 1980 from Museum Collection Inc. and it has been in my home since.
The bronze comes with a certification letter that it is cast number 331 of the Limited Edition of 1000 sculptures.
The Cheyenne, one of seven Remington bronzes Remington created was copy-righted in 1901 six years after he created his first sculpture The Bronco Buster, which sits in the White House being gifted by President Roosevelt.
This replica of The Cheyenne is modeled from cast number 9 of Remington original.
This numbered edition of the Cheyenne was commissioned by Museum Collections Inc. in cooperation with the Buffalo Bill Historical Center Cody Wy.
This edition is cast using the lost wax process and patination Remington used for his original casts.
It measures 19 inches nose to tail of the horse. 16 inches to the wood base. It weights 31 lbs.
Inscribed on base are :Museum Collection Inc. marked with a c encircled, 1980 , and J. Dilorenzo , scratched (sculptor) , 331/1000.
