This is a new 2026 Surly skid loader that I bought to try long distance e bikepacking with. It has only 80 miles on it and I’ve ridden it on easy single track and gravel since I ordered it a month ago. I have the recumbent shop in Tumalo so I’m a legitimate bike dealer but this is my personal bike. It has the capacity to run two Bosch batteries( it has the one 545 wh battery it came with) and with a second Bosch 800 wh battery it would give a potential range of close to 200 miles making it a less expensive option to the Riese and Muller or Tern Oryx expedition touring bikes. Since I’m a Surly dealer and I have not sold this bike to a customer I can still honor the warranty as if I sold this with zero miles.
It comes standard with a light system and dropper post and I’ve added a Brooks C67 saddle and Ergon cork grips for swept bars as well as a Spurcycle mirror and bell. It has oversized hydraulic disc brakes. It has 27.5 x 2.5” Surly Extraterrestrial tires.
I’ve put on a pair of Rockbros everything fork cages that I’ll sell with it.
The cool thing about this bike is the versatility; it’s great on green to blue single track, as a gravel bike, as a cargo bike for practical stuff, and unlike a full size long bike cargo bike it will fit a standard bike rack/carrier.
I also was going to try dogpacking or e-bikepacking with it but am selling due to shifting my focus to sailing and getting my boat ready to take north. New everyone is selling them for $4199 and I’m letting this go below my cost at $3100.
It’s a size medium which Surly lists as fitting from 5’6” to 6’1”. I’m 6’ and it fits great.
