As a volunteer, you can choose from several flexible Girl Scout Pathways—the ways that girls and adults participate in Girl Scouting—which offer you the freedom to tailor your level of involvement to fit your schedule and lifestyle. For instance, you can work directly with girls or work indirectly with them by supporting other adults who work directly with girls, and you can choose from either short-term or long-term assignments.
Match your expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to the needs of our councils' based on their available volunteer opportunities. You will get the support, instruction, and guidance necessary to fulfill your role successfully as a Girl Scout volunteer that helps council staff and other volunteers guide girls through the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
Your service will be recognized and greatly appreciated not only by GSUSA and council staff, but particularly by all the girls who you will help to grow strong!
In the last month we have placed 15 dogs in loving, stable, committed new homes.
If you are interested in fostering, you should know:
Typically, a dog is only in his/her foster home a few weeks to a couple of months.
Your foster dog will arrive spayed/neutered and fully vetted, ready to be adopted.
We search for the perfect home -- you only need to take care of your foster dog.
All dogs are temperament-tested before going into foster homes (we won't deal with aggressive dogs)
You have a choice -- talk to us about breed, gender, size and age preferences for a new foster dog.
It won't cost you anything except a little extra time and attention (All For Dogs pays for it all, and provides you a crate, too)
There will always be someone available for you to talk to (you're not alone -- we all have foster dogs, too, and we will help you through it).
Folks from Seattle and Portland frequently make the trip over the mountains to adopt our dogs.
And, finally, you should know you will be doing rewarding work that will make you feel like a million bucks.
You might shed a tear when your dog is adopted, but we guarantee it will be mostly out of joy.
My name is Nadine , I am a resident staff at Bosco House here in Eugene.
Bosco House began 9 years ago by a small group of Eugenians with the dream of providing a safe environment and family home life for mothers and children. Since that time we have served mothers ages 18-25 and their children who are typically who have experienced domestic violence, chronic homelessness, and/or addiction. They come to Bosco broken but striving to make positive changes in their lives.
We offer the Bosco House as a place to heal, learn and to become independent. Our staff of volunteers live and work with these young women providing support. For many women Bosco House may be the first time they have lived in a traditional family structured environment.
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Although faith based, Bosco House does not discriminate on the basis of disability, faith, race, nationality or personal orientation. Our Board and staff consists of passionate and dedicated people who are working to support the work of Bosco House and the growth of the young women in our program.
At this time we are working to raise awareness about the services we provide. We are in the process of meeting with members of the community and social service organizations.
We need volunteers with a heart for the young homeless families; Volunteers to help around the home and get to know the girls and the spirit of Bosco House.
