You smile at me; I see love in your eyes. What do you see in mine? Do you see a spirit? A soul inside, who loves you as no other could in the world? A spirit that would forgive all trespasses of prior wrong doing for just a simple moment of your time? That is all I ask. To slow down, if even for a few minutes to be with me. So many times you have been saddened by the words you read on that screen, of other of my kind, passing. Sometimes we die young and oh so quickly, sometimes so suddenly it wrenches your heart out of your throat. Sometimes, we age so slowly before your eyes that you may not even seem to know until the very end, when we look at you with grizzled muzzles and cataract clouded eyes. Still the love is always there, even when we must take that long sleep, to run free in a distant land.
I may not be here tomorrow; I may not be here next week. Someday you will shed the water from your eyes, that humans have when deep grief fills their souls, and you will be angry at yourself that you did not have just "One more day" with me. Because I love you so, your sorrow touches my spirit and grieves me. We have NOW, together. So come, sit down here next to me on the floor, and look deep into my eyes. What do you see? If you look hard and deep enough we will talk, you and I, heart to heart. Come to me not as "alpha" or as "trainer" or even "Mom or Dad," come to me as a living soul and stroke my fur and let us look deep into one another's eyes, and talk.
I may tell you something about the fun of chasing a tennis ball, or I may tell you something profound about myself, or even life in general. You decided to have me in your life because you wanted a soul to share such things with. Someone very different from you, and here I am. I am a dog, but I am alive. I feel emotion, I feel physical senses, and I can revel in the differences of our spirits and souls. I do not think of you as a "Dog on two feet" -- I know what you are. You are human, in all your quirkiness, and I love you still.
Now, come sit with me, on the floor. Enter my world, and let time slow down if only for 15 minutes. Look deep into my eyes, and whisper to my ears. Speak with your heart, with your joy and I will know your true self. We may not have tomorrow, and life is oh so very short.
We really like her, but our other cat will not leave her the heck alone. He constantly harasses her and we feel bad that she has to put up with it. They got along fine when she first came to us, but he's gotten more and more brave and now it's a daily thing to have to pick him up and take him in another room because she'll just be laying there relaxing and he comes in the room to pick on her.
This cat is very sweet, loves attention and to be held, has never offered to scratch or bite and we think she might be a great cat for someone that wants to get a kitty for their kids, as she's already calm about being held and such. She is fixed, so no worries about kittens. She's young and healthy, so has a long life ahead of her. She tolerates our dogs but isn't in love with them, so a well behaved dog would be fine or no dogs in her new home.
He will not stop fighting with my other dogs, so I don't have any other choice but to try to find him a loving home.
I think he would do best as the only dog in the house.. He does ok with children, again once he gets to know them.
He currently lives with a 6 year old girl and does wonderful with her.
He will make someone a wonderful dog, if you are willing to put a little time into getting to know him and work with him.

This is not a joke and I want a wonderful home for her. Somewhere she can be enjoyed for the sweet pet she is. I could put her out with my chickens, but they are all larger layers and she would get hurt. I don't have a cage for her to leave with, because she lives in the bottom of my big flight cage with the finches.

Basic Responsibilities
A foster home will care for the dog as they would their pet, providing a safe secure stable environment, food, companionship, basic training and exercise, and supplying generous amounts of patience and love. Some animals require special care, such as post medical attention, increasing weight or strength, socializing, building trust, exercise, and fun. Others may need you to help reinforce manners, working with problem areas (leash manners, house training, barking, etc.), and be taught basic obedience (sit, down, off, etc). The animal CANNOT be left outside while family members are at work or are not present in the home. At times you may be asked to transport the animal to the vet for routine vaccinations or to bring the pet to monthly Pet Adoption Events.
Time Length of Fostering
The fostering period can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks to several months. It depends on the breed, gender, age, and health of the animal, as well as the time of year. Younger or small breed animals tend to be adopted more quickly. The more "work" a foster home puts into the animal, the quicker they get adopted because they are easier to place when they've been taught obedience and good manners. If at anytime you feel you can no longer foster an animal, we always take them back into our program. Know in advance that when you bring a foster animal home, your lifestyle and daily routine will change - sometimes dramatically or sometimes only a little bit. If you have other pets, expect some conflict at first. As a foster, once you take an animal into your home we expect that you will work through any problems that arise unless they are severe. At All For Dogs Rescue we take “foster mentoring” very seriously, and you will always have someone to consult with should conflicts arise between your animals while you foster.
Leaving the Foster Pet Home Alone
Most of our foster parents have full-time jobs and aren't home for several hours a day. As long as the animal is kept safely indoors, it should be fine. We recommend all fosters crate their dogs or confine them to a room when they are not at home and we encourage you to do the same.
Fostering Animals Around Children
As long as you make sure your children know the "do's and don'ts" around dogs and supervise at all times, fostering animals with children around should not be a problem. We temperament test the animals we take in, and can usually tell which animals will be good with children. Please understand that if your child hurts or scares the dog, it may bite. It is your responsibility to make sure this does not happen.
Deciding to Keep a Foster Animal
It is tough when a foster pet finds a permanent home and you've fallen in love with him/her; however, you'll feel joy in sending a pet to a wonderful new family. If you decide you would like to adopt a foster pet and your home is the best home for the animal, you will need to fill out an adoption application and contract. We'll be sad to lose a foster home but we'll be happy for the animal.
I will be going to see the doggie dentist Wednesday and will more than likely have most of my remaining teeth pulled so I will need a diet of soft food. The bite marks have healed and my hair is growing back and would like to find a home where I will not be attacked anymore in my remaining years. I am a lover, not a fighter. A nice, quiet, gentle home is all I ask for. In return I promise to give you unconditional love and appreciate all you do for me!
The vet is not sure yet about if my eye will have to come out. For now it is damaged and does not work, however, it has healed some and if it is not infected or painful, it might have to stay for now. Any new home should be aware though that at some point I might need to have it removed. My other eye works great, so I should be able to get along with only one eye if it gets to that point. In fact, having only one eye will make me even more special!
I will also be honest in that I am not quite potty trained, please don’t blame me for my irresponsible past owners that didn’t teach me good manners. My foster Mom takes me outside often and I am learning, she just is not able to read my mind so I have occasional accidents.

We also need foster homes for kittens too young for spay/neuter and adoption, mom cats with babies, and special needs cats (those that have injuries or other health issues, are older or that are having a hard time adapting to life in the sanctuary). We provide food, litter, supplies, cages if needed, medications as needed, etc. and we work with foster homes to schedule deworming, vaccinations and any medical care. All we need are safe homes for the babies to grow, for the moms to have a quiet place to tend to their babies, and for cats that need to recover from surgery or have other health issues to be able to thrive and become adoptable.
Kittens under 6 months are just $40 or 2 for $60! (Adopt a buddy! We prefer that small kittens have a suitable animal friend in the new home.) Some kittens are new from foster homes and are not yet featured on our website.
Adopt a kitten, and an adult "mentor" cat or teenage kitten (over 6 mos.) is free!
"Teenage" cats over 6 mos. and adult cats are just $20 or two for $30!
We accept cash or checks at this time; we are scheduled to be set up for credit and debit cards, but don't have the equipment just yet.
We have a senior / handicapped adoption program, in which adult or teenage kitten (over 6 mos.) are free. Adult cats and teenage kittens are also free to veterans and their immediate family (same household).
We have semi-feral, feral and a few tame cats that are more comfortable in an appropriate barn/shop environment, at no cost and we will deliver.
All adopters are required to complete an adoption application and agreement. Information on the cat or kitten's surgery, vaccination history, etc. will be provided.
You may ask, why are the adoption fees so low, much less than the shelters? And why are some adult cats and older kittens available at no cost? Especially when the value of the spay/neuter, vaccinations, ID chip, etc. is well over $100? Come visit and you will see why! We have LOTS of kittens and cats due to the poor economy this year, about twice as many as a year ago, and we want to see them all have good homes sooner rather than later. We are also expecting that the poor economy is not going to go away any time soon, and that means more abandoned cats and kittens that we cannot help if we don't adopt out the others quickly. Our ultimate goal is to find appropriate homes for each and every one.
We do not cage our adoptable cats and kittens; they are free to romp in their respective areas, so be prepared when you sit down to have a few making themselves comfortable on your lap!

Give a cat that has few options a chance at a normal life. Some are on the friendly side, others are not so much, so let us know what you prefer for your situation.
If you don't have another barn/shop cat, we prefer to place at least two of ours since they are used to living together and are more likely to stay put if they have another animal friend. We have older kittens that are not tame enough to be family pets, but will only place those with at least one experienced adult cat in the safest possible locations.
