Open auditions will be held for the stage play �One Flew Over the Cuckoo�s Nest� on Monday, December 21st and Tuesday, December 22nd at 7:00 pm at the Cascades Theatrical Company. Cast requirements are 12 men and 4 women. Auditions are cold readings. The director is Jill Stinson-Littlejohn.

Characters:

The Patients:

Chief Bromden�a huge, bull-muscled Native American, about 6 1/2 feet tall

Dale Harding� late 30s, handsome, effete

Billy Bibbit � almost thirty, appears more like a boy, stutters

Scanlon � jittery, nervous, excitable

Cheswick � short, chubby, crew cut, his manner alternately truculent and cringing

Martini � a little Italian, eager and bright-eyed

Ruckly � once powerful body now undirected by intelligence, blank faced and empty eyed, shaved skull

Randle P. McMurphy � shaggy, long sideburns, devilish grin, face battered and scarred, a wide-open extroverted air

The Staff

Aide Warren � sadistic tendencies, moves with Aide Williams like a team of lithe panthers with sadistic tendencies

Dr. Spivey � resident psychiatrist, pipe-smoking, glasses fumbling, harassed fellow of no great force

Nurse Ratched � handsome woman, age hard to tell, odd perfection about her, brilliant warm smile, body is ripe and womanly.

Nurse Flinn � frightened of her own shadow, no match for Nurse Ratched

Aide Turkle � kindly towards the patients, soft-hearted, marijuana user

Candy Starr � McMurphy�s girl, a real dish

Sandra � also a dish, some suggest prostitute

The Story:

A charming rogue contrives to serve a short sentence in an airy mental institution rather in a prison. This, he learns, was a mistake. He clashes with the head nurse, an uncompromising disciplinarian. He takes over the yard, accomplishes what the medical profession has been unable to do for twelve years, leads others out of introversion, stages a revolt so that they can see the world series on television, and arranges a rollicking midnight party with liquor and chippies. For one offense, the head nurse has him submitted to shock treatment. For the second, the correction is more extreme.

Performances:

The show runs Feb. 12�Feb. 28. Preview night Feb. 11. Shows are Wednesday thru Saturday nights at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2 pm. This is a volunteer oppurtunity with you local community theater.

About CTC:
CTC is entirely volunteer-based. While a skeleton staff of two manages the organization�s day-to-day operations, all productions are directed, acted, designed, built and painted by volunteers. Those with a wealth of experience teach those with little or none. It�s a rare production at CTC that doesn�t feature at least one new face onstage or backstage�and more often than not the new volunteers have much to offer.

Don't let other companies fool you into thinking that they have a Giclee printer, most of them don't. Also they don't have a calibration system or knowledge to give you consistent color every time. I know this because I have been the pioneer for digital large format printing for over 15 years. Cowboy Bronze Sculpture (Redmond/Deschutes county)

I am a local artists in the process of creating a life sized bronze of Bobby Mote on a bareback horse. The completed bronze will be on display at businesses around Redmond from now until whenever necessary . From the smaller marquette will be a life sized monument created. This monument will be installed at the fair grounds at Deschutes County. I am looking for donations and/or sponsors to help fund this project. The project itself will take 3-6 months to complete. Bend Bronze is doing the castings. This is a community effort that the finished bronze will belong to the community. It is to be dedicated to all past, present and future rodeo cowboys, their families, stock contractors and anyone else who helps rodeo work. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. The bronze is going to be on display at the Red Rock Cowboy Creations booth during the 2009 Columbia River Circuit Finals.

First Prize: $2,000 (Over $3,500 in total prizes) (prizes in US dollars)

Exhibition: June / July 2010
Eligibility: Open to all photographers internationally using any photographic style

The Crooked River Ranch Artist and Crafters Guild will hold its FIRST Fall Sale on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17th at the Redmond Grange Hall, located at 707 SW Kalama, Redmond (Between Fred Meyer and Lowe�s).

Our artisans provide a wide variety of unique, handmade arts and crafts for home d�cor and gift giving, including fiber art, hand-sewn items, jewelry, woodworking, oil and acrylic painting, dried flower arrangements & much more.

We hope to see you there!

VOLUNTEER ART LEADERS NEEDED (deschutes county)

We are looking to expand the 4-H art program in Deschutes County and need artists to volunteer as club leaders. 4-H is a learn-by-doing program for youth. 4-H uses hands-on educational projects to teach life skills to young people and is open to boys and girls ages K-12. Leaders determine the parameters of what will be taught and to what age group. There is curriculum available. 4-H provides an opportunity for members to make new friends and learn new skills. In addition to club programs, youth may participate in the county and state fairs, contests, camps, tours, and exchanges. This is a great way to invest in the next generation of artists and leaders!! Leadership training is required� The 4-H years begins Oct 1st. Please contact Kelley for more information. 971-570-6811
